Swider, a transfer from Villanova, finished with a team-high nine makes from beyond the arc, and Howard and Buddy Boeheim both totaled eight 3-pointers.

Despite the loss in the final round, Anselem won the creativity contest with his slams. He jumped over Syracuse freshman Niko Ruffin — who threw a pass to him while sitting in a chair — and received a score of 61 for his first dunk. Anselem paid homage to former NBA forward Gerald Green for his second dunk by blowing out the candle of a cupcake before slamming the ball through the rim.
